SEIA Outlines Policy Agenda for New Administration

The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) has published a series of guidelines and executive actions that President-elect Joe Biden and newly elected Congress are expected to respond to during their first 100 days in office.

The Solar Vision is in line with SEIA’s goals in the Solar + Decade and aims to put the US on the path to 100% clean energy. It contains three strategic needs for the solar industry, each of which contains numerous policy proposals. These needs include developing aggressive clean energy goals and comprehensive carbon policies, investing in modern infrastructure and manpower, and ensuring access to clean and competitive energy markets.

The policies that SEIA aspires to include a tax policy that rapidly expands the use of solar energy to tackle the climate crisis, a trade policy that provides clarity and predictability to the solar industry, and permits that reduce red tape and install more solar panels quickly and at lower cost .

“Our 100-day agenda is in line with President-elect Biden’s vision of rebuilding better, and represents an important opportunity to face the climate age moment with justice and justice at the fore,” said Abigail Ross Hopper, President and CEO of SEIA . “Even when we face a likely split government, every facet of this agenda has been supported by both parties. Now is the time to take action to provide Americans with economic opportunities that will encourage competition and address the climate crisis. “
