Direct Power Enterprise indicators PPA with Cardinal Renewables for 14-MW Virginia solar challenge

New York mandates 70% renewable energy by 2030

Cardinal Renewables, a strategic partnership between global investment firm The Carlyle Group and Alchemy Renewable Energy, an industry leader in renewable energy projects and tax equity finance, has entered into a PPA with Direct Energy Business, one of the largest retailers in North America for power, natural gas and household energy services through Twittys Creek Solar are supporting construction of the 14 MWAC solar power facility in Charlotte County, Virginia.

Twitty’s Creek offers a permanently clean alternative to traditional fossil fuels and reduces the amount of harmful carbon emissions that are released into the atmosphere. The new solar system developed by Holocene Clean Energy is expected to go into operation in December 2020.

“We are excited to expand our business with Twittys Creek so that we can expand our coverage to Virginia and get one step closer to the clean energy transition,” said Lacie Clark, CEO of Alchemy Renewable Energy. “The project would not have been possible without our joint venture with Carlyle and the collaboration with Direct Energy Business and Holocene Clean Energy.”

“Each of our renewable energy projects creates new power generation assets for the US,” said Pooja Goyal, co-leader of the infrastructure group at The Carlyle Group. “Twittys Creek Solar is expected to have a positive impact on the Charlotte County community and region by providing a clean source of energy that is designed to ensure efficient electricity supply, improve the environment and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.”
