Chandigarh-based developer Hartek Solar has announced that it has bagged 1.8 MW Umbrella project from the FMCG company Bikaji. The company will carry out the project from installing solar panels and inverters to delivery, design, engineering and commissioning.
“Hartek Solar, the solar roof division of Hartek Group has commissioned a 1.8 MW rooftop solar project in the Industry category from Bikaji, a leading FMCG company, in Bikaner, Rajasthan, ”said a company statement.
The project will generate 2,822 MWh clean electricity 57,661 tons of CO2 emissions are offset annually. Based on the latest PERC technology (Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell) with monocrystalline solar modules, the solar system at the Bikaji headquarters in the industrial area of Bichhwal will also be equipped with a storage system.
“The potential of solar roofs in the industrial category is immense and we will do everything we can to exploit it. With favorable political decisions that are having a significant impact, the industry is well positioned to grow demand for solar roofs in the months ahead.
“Industrial consumers are increasingly realizing how rooftop solar systems can dramatically reduce their utility bills,” said Hartek Solar Director and CEO Simarpreet Singh said.
Bikaji chief executive Deepak Agarwal said the company’s decision to opt for rooftop solar panels to meet electricity needs is a step in that direction. “In addition to reducing our electricity bills, the solar system at our Bikaner plant strengthens our commitment to a sustainable future,” said Agarwal.
Hartek Solar has set itself the goal of carrying out 10 MW roof projects in the industrial sector by the end of the current financial year, as the industrial and commercial categories make up 70 percent of the total installed solar capacity on the roof in India.
In January we reported that the company had secured solar projects on the roof 1 MW in Daman. The company has demonstrated its presence in the newly merged union territories (UTs) of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu by winning around 40 rooftop solar projects with a total capacity of 1 MW in the industrial category in Daman.
