The Dunsborough homeowners are just the 250th customer in Western Australia to have Plico Energy install a solar panel system in their home.
Homeowner Luke Pearce said he would have a battery installed and once there was a critical mass of batteries in a certain area, they could discharge that energy and feed it back into the grid.
They use this agency to stand up for their members and to secure sources of income for them that they otherwise would not have been able to access.
Unmanaged solar energy can strain the power grid, which is why Plico Energy has introduced battery inverter systems. The systems store solar energy that customers can use later in the day when the sun goes down.
Plico Energy said this relieves the grid as it stabilizes the supply and demand of energy and enables even more renewable energy.
The solar storage system contributes to Plico Energy’s virtual power plant, which improves grid reliability, benefits the entire community and provides relief in the event of blackouts.
